Berwick have signed Joe Jacobs as an injury replacement for Lewis Bridger.

Jacobs, 23, was left without a team place at the start of the season despite impressing for Belle Vue last year, but now gets his chance to impress with the Bandits in the SGB Championship.

He makes his debut at one of his former home tracks, Peterborough, on Friday at the start of a busy weekend for his new club.

Co-promoter Scott Courtney said: “Lewis is set for another month on the sidelines as a result of back injuries sustained at Shielfield Park against Workington a few weeks ago, and Joe is a decent guy to have on our side.

“Joe was instrumental in Belle Vue's 2016 success story and is keen to build on those successes. He's most definitely a young Brit eager to impress! So we're delighted to give him his chance.”
